Hoen’s Garden Center – In Full Bloom
April 2, the Maumee Valley
Maumee Valley Gardeners who have that “can’t wait, gotta garden” feeling can find everything they need at Hoen’s Garden Center, where the greenhouse is in full bloom. Owners Bob and Theresa Hoen have gotten an early start on the season and are now offering a full range of locally grown plants from seedlings to pots of mixed blooms, as well as window boxes and unusual garden art.
Always eager to inspire new gardeners and teach new techniques, the Hoens are
offering their annual Gardener’s Preview week (April 21-26) capped off by free
seminars at their Spring Fling on April 26th. Visitors will find “garden
rooms” and vignettes which help with planning how to incorporate the latest
garden trends at home. Special sessions will address landscaping and container
gardening.
Bob and Theresa, who are featured in this month’s Toledo Business Review
(http://toledobusinessreview.com), also have nurtured some plants not usually
found in area garden centers – a huge jade tree, a magnificent sago palm, and
their famous Meyer lemon tree are just a part of the experience of a visit to
Hoen’s. New this year will be container water gardens.
As members of Maumee Valley Growers, Bob and Theresa Hoen are working with local greenhouse operators, researchers, and others to strengthen the Northwest Ohio greenhouse industry. By supporting Hoen’s or other Maumee Valley Grower members, Maumee Valley Growers grow the local economy as well as top-quality plants.
Hoen’s is located at 1710 Perrysburg-Holland Road, just off Airport Highway, and is open every day: Monday through Saturday from 9am to 6 pm and Sundays from 11 to 4.
